Accounting & Finance Specialist

Toyota Boshoku America, Inc Mantachie, MS (Onsite) Full-Time

I.               General Summary:  Complete month end duties such as journal entries, labor / expense analysis, sales and cogs analysis and balance sheet account reconciliations as well as cost accounting duties such as analyzing shipments, inventory, material cost and BOMs.

II.          Essential Job Functions:

A.     Review bills of materials and assign appropriate routing for accurate costing.

B.     Perform BOM audits with PC and Manufacturing, and participate in tear downs.

C.     Analyze and prepare monthly reports for manufacturing labor and expense variances.

D.     Review purchased material standard cost for accuracy.  Track all standard cost and selling price changes.

E.     Assist with / co-chair quarterly physical inventory counts.

F.     Review / Analyze shipments to ensure accurate sales and inventory, and communicate with PC and IT on any issues.

G.     Lead / monitor all plant Kaizen activities – Assist in the calculation of cost savings for budget and measurement of actual savings.

H.     Monitor inventory value report for abnormalities & process adjustments as needed

I.      Complete month end duties such as journal entries, review health insurance, labor analysis, intercompany charges

J.      Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations

K.     Manage all payroll Audits and submissions, and perform as a liaison between TBMS employees and TBMS payroll department for all time, supplemental pay, garnishments, etc.

L.     Prepare internal report of labor, overtime, headcount, etc. for management review.

M.    Conduct cost reporting training for Managers, AM’s and GL’s.

N.     Manage Jsox activity and reporting, preparing procedural documents when needed.

O.     Manage changepoint activity for accounting group.

III.           Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Education:

•       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience:

•       Minimum of four (4) years of work experience in an Accounting role in a manufacturing environment.

Personal/Technical Skills:

•       Must have knowledge of basic cost accounting, business finance, standard cost and inventory valuation. 

•       Requires an understanding of the interrelationships of cost accounting and data processing.

•       Strong multitasking and organization skills.

•       General understanding and working knowledge of basic accounting principles.

•       Strong customer service orientation with both internal and external customers.

•       Thorough knowledge of company accounting/financial reporting procedures, policies and requirements.

•       Excellent math skills.

•       Ability to maintain specified financial files, records and logs.

•       Ability to research and compile data to prepare reports, recaps and summaries.

•       Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.

•       Must be familiar with company products, manufacturing procedures and terminology.

•       Must be very detail oriented.

•       Judgment and initiative are required to complete tasks efficiently, maintain accuracy and meet time schedules.

Language Skills:

•       Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

 

Computer/Software:

•       Oracle experience helpful but not required

•       Requires proficiency in MS Excel

•       Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).

Office:  Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.

Plant:  N/A

Travel:  0-5%

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear.  The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing and is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.
