Production Control Analyst

Toyota Boshoku America Lawrenceville, IL (Onsite) Full-Time

I.                    General Summary:  Provide data collection and data entry for the Production Control department.  Maintain and continually improve information quality and flow within the department.  Work closely with suppliers or raw materials to ensure proper shipments and inventory levels are maintained.

 

II.            Essential Job Functions:

              A.      Spot check incoming raw materials, sub assembly parts and outsourced production.

B.      Provide management with timely and accurate reporting.

C.      Assist with daily/weekly/monthly and pre-inventory cycle count activities.

D.      Set up, update and maintain ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Item Master Data and/or bill of materials (BOMs).  

E.       Create and receive purchase orders and requisitions.

F.       Set production schedules based on kanbans.

G.      Kanban maintenance (monthly adjustments).

H.      File and retrieve invoices when needed.

I.        Invoice investigation and resolution.

J.        Assists in Kaizen activities, suggests education, planning and training to improve workplace.

K.      Develop thorough understanding of PC Departments procedures.

L.       Cross train with other Specialists for management of backup plan.

M.     Support BOM development. 

N.      Prepare, pack, label and ship special orders and new product shipments.

O.      Continually work with vendors to improve distribution flow, logistics processes and reduce cost.

P.       Read, understand and utilize customer forecast and identify potential issues in production planning.

Q.      SOP document control, updates and maintenance.                                 

III.               Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Education:

•         High School diploma or GED

•         Associate’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

•         Greater than 2 years of relevant experience required.

•         Toyota Supplier and Web-Based Manifest (EDI) experience preferred.

•         Prior work experience in production or planning.

Personal/Technical Skills:

•         Must be familiar with company products, terminology and manufacturing procedures.

•         Proficient clerical skills required.

•         Excellent communication skills.

•         Good math skills.

•         Close attention to detail.

•         Self-starter with strong work ethic.

•         Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

•         Flexibility in a changing environment.

•         Strong organizational skills and capable of managing multiple tasks with tight deadlines.

•         Good representation of company to customers and/or suppliers.

•         Develops employee relations centered on trust and teamwork.

•         Focuses on continually improving interpersonal skills.

•         Strong customer service skills.

Language Skills:

•         Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Computer/Software:

•         Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office.

•         Familiar with MRP and EDI systems.

 

IV.               Work Environment/Conditions:

Office:  Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.

Plant:  Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level.  PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, etc. may be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas.  Personal attire standards may apply.

V.                  Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear.  The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing and is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.
